JS Classes Repository is a service created in 2010 as a means of distributing freely available scripts of objects written in the JavaScript programming language. The goal of this service is to build a base of programming components ready to be used in applications written in JavaScript.

The repository contains scripts of JavaScript objects contributed by many developers interested in submitting their work. You may browse the available classes by entering the browse page.

To contribute, first you need to register. Once you have logged in, you create packages for your classes. Then you may either import your package files from a version control repository site (Git or Subversion or CVS) or upload upload the files of the packages manually.

The site registered users may be notified by e-mail when a new class is added or updated.

This site allows any user to download any class packages files without being registered, as long as the authors of the packages express that they do not wish that the site makes a more accurate accounting of users that download their packages.

Many authors appreciate this automated notification service as it helps keep their package users up to date. Sending e-mail notifications when a package is updated also helps authors saving time providing support to users who might not have upgraded to newer versions with bug fixes and improved features.

Users that purchase premium subscriptions may request a refund when they wish to cancel a subscription upto 7 days after it was automatically renewed and they did not cancel before the subscription period ended.

2. Requirement to register

This site itself does not require any person to register in order to access site content. However, the authors of some types of content published on the site, like the code of the classes of objects, have the option of requiring that users are authenticated when they want to read or download files with content that those authors provided. The site records the unique user identifier number of users who access a content piece only when the users are authenticated. This way the site can build accurate charts that list the top accessed content in a way that is reasonably immune to fraud. At the same time the site provides additional exposure and recognition only to the work of the authors who deserve it. These top content charts do not disclose the identity of the users that accessed the content of the authors. Additionally, the information about which users accessed the content may be used to determine which users may be interested in receiving automatic alerts when such content is updated by their authors. This way the users are able to come to the site and obtain the most recent versions of the content. Updated content may contain fixes or or other type of improvements on the content quality.

3. Mailing list subscriptions

As part of the benefits to registered users, the site sends free email newsletters and new site content alert messages by the means of several types of mailing lists. All users are automatically joined to these mailing lists once they confirm the site registration process. Users who do not wish to receive messages from these mailing lists can unsubscribe from any of the lists, either by going to the user options page to remove the check marks of the respective alerts and newsletter options, or by sending unsubscribe request e-mail messages, or clicking on unsubscribe links as explained at the bottom of all mailing list messages. 4. Multiple accounts

This restriction helps the site to combat fraud that could be committed by users that want to abuse the system to get benefits they do not deserve. The registered users' e-mail address is required mainly to prevent users creating multiple accounts that could be used to distort the download accounting statistics or to commit fraud in the several types of voting systems on the site.

The site also uses the registered users' e-mail address to send messages of their interest through several types of site mailing lists, like for instance alert messages when new content is available or newsletters with important announcements related to site features.

Users who do not wish to receive the site newsletters and alert messages, can unsubscribe from them by following the instructions at the bottom of such messages.

One way to unsubscribe from a mailing list is to send a blank message to an address mentioned at the bottom of the mailing list messages you receive. In response, the site will send you another message with the URL of a special page that you need to access to confirm the unsubscribe request.

When unsubscribing by e-mail, make sure you are sending a message from the same e-mail address used to subscribe. Otherwise, the site may not find your account and your unsubscription request is ignored.
